Although the current European policy in Africa does not give rise to any smile, the cultural exchange between the two continents has never been so fruitful. SUNDYATA is giving an unconditional evidence of this, with their recent released album “Tout commence à Niani” ( Everything commences in Niani), sponsored by the African reggae star Tiken Jah Fakoly. Since the band was formed, Sundyata’s music has been fed by all African reggae codes which they recognize and absorb the therapeutic virtues. Away from the current Jamaican music trends but rather close from the soul culture of British 70’s reggae bands (Steel Pulse, Aswad, Matumbi,…) the Parisian combo introduces its refreshing reggae and its unifying groove to a more and more demanding audience. “He who is fixed to a star does not change his mind” . It is probably this quote from L Da Vinci that best illustrates the mood in which the band is now when starting to tour. Because the reggae music of SUNDYATA gives its ultimate positive vibration when it is shared with a dancing and shouting audience…
